Specializing in Individual Treatment, and Couples Therapy
The Treatment Process
Treatment will start with an individual or couple evaluation, during the evaluation we will review your biological, psychological, and social history and any other information which you feel will help me better understand your current situation and need for therapy. Then we will work together to begin forming your goals for treatment. My goals are to use your strengths and resilience and identify barriers to change, combined with my expertise, to result in successful outcomes and gaining the skills you need to continue to succeed.
After the evaluation treatment can either be in an individual or conjoint format. Treatment will typically last 12 sessions or less to reach reduction in symptom distress which initially brought you in for therapy. If your treatment goals involve more than 12 sessions, additional sessions may be needed and will be discussed as treatment progresses. Individual and conjoint sessions will last 45-50 minutes.

I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy. CPT is a therapy process that helps clients become unstuck from past experiences that have manifested disorders such as PTSD. This therapy is usually 12 sessions. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavior Conjoint therapy for PTSD. CBCT-PTSD is a conjoint therapy to also reduce symptom distress from PTSD and other traumas while improving relationship satisfaction. This therapy is usually 15 sessions.
Individual Therapy
I have successfully helped individuals, couples, and families find happiness in life. I believe everyone has the power to change. However, we often get stuck. Over the years I have participated in peoples amazing transformations as they become unstuck and regained their satisfaction and fulfillment, have healthy relationships, and overcome trials and other problems. I've found that everyone I've met with in therapy can change and be happy.

I approach therapy primarily from an interpersonal perspective, which views healthy relationships as key to emotional and psychological functioning. I strive to help my clients gain insight into the dynamics in their life that contribute to feelings of fear and sadness. I believe that therapy should be a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience, and I work to push clients outside of their comfort zone to create real change in their lives. I also help clients move away from avoidant ways of dealing with stress in their lives and toward strategies that increase self-esteem and provide their lives with meaning.
